Tips for better resale titles

Put the most important words first

Most resale platforms search titles from left to right. Start with the brand, then the model or item type, then size and condition. A buyer searching for "iPhone 12" will not see a title that starts with "Great phone."

Include the size, color, and material

Buyers filter by these details. If your title does not mention the size or color, your item may not show up in filtered searches. Even a simple addition like "Size 10" or "Dark Blue" helps.

Be honest about condition

Words like "gently used," "like new," or "small scratch on back" set the right expectation. Vague descriptions lead to more questions, returns, and bad reviews.

Avoid filler words

Words like "nice," "great," "awesome," or "L@@K" waste space. Every word in your title is a chance to match a buyer's search. Use that space for real details.

Match the marketplace style

Poshmark listings often include style keywords (boho, minimalist, vintage). eBay buyers search by model numbers. Facebook Marketplace works well with plain, clear descriptions. Adjust your title slightly for each platform.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • All caps titles (hard to read, looks like spam)
  • Missing size or measurements
  • Using only "good condition" with no other detail
  • Starting with "Selling my..." instead of the item name
  • Forgetting the brand name, even if it seems obvious

What this generator does and does not do

What it does

  • Reorders your input into a standard resale title format
  • Adds category-appropriate structure
  • Saves your recent titles locally in your browser
  • Generates a shareable link for any polished title

What it does not do

  • Verify that a product exists or is authentic
  • Check pricing or suggest a selling amount
  • Guarantee more views or sales
  • Send your data anywhere (everything stays on your device)
